Community Medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with the preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative aspects of the community. This rapidly expanding discipline of medicine encroaches upon different aspects of health, namely public health genetics, non-communicable disease epidemiology, disaster management, mental health, occupational health, etc.
The department is equipped with models, charts, and instruments, which will make the students understand the topic well.
The students will get an opportunity to interact with the family to understand their health problems and unmet healthcare needs and help them to resolve their issues by supporting them with treatment facilities available in the hospital.
Also, students take part in health education and awareness program.
As a part of the curriculum, students will visit the following centers to understand the functions.
Nutritional assessment and improving public health, especially among children Identifying issues among children – visual disturbance, dental hygiene, learning disability, and giving support to overcome the health problem.
